To the Honble Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for Washington County.
The Petition of Charity Crowner humbly sheweth that your petitioner is a free woman & born of a free white woman and is unjustly held in bondage by a certain Rezin Arnold of Washington County.
Wherefore she prays that supba maybe issued to said Arnold & that he may be compelled to appear and answer hereto and that she may be discharged from her service and adjudged free according to Law.
