Inclosed you will find the summon for Soper and others not served. I started the next morning for Mr Sopers but my horse was was taken so lame that I was obliged to return, and supposing the trial would be decided to day I did not think it worth while to make any further attempt to go after the witnesses named in the precept
My accout for taking the depositions is $36 which I hope they will be prepared to pay when I come [torn page] Washington again
