The United States of America to the Marshall of the District of Cola greeting
You are hereby commanded to summon John Somers and Nathan Somers to be and appear before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia to be held for the County of Washington on the first Monday of June next, to answer the petition of negro Lucy on behalf of herself & her two infant children, Airy & Louisa in the said Court exhibited against them. Hereof fail not at your peril. Witness Wm Cranch Esquire Chief Judge of the said Court the 30th Day of Jany 1813.
