The United States of America, To Walter Clarke
You are hereby commanded, that, all excuses and delays set aside, you be and appear before the circuit court of the district of Columbia, to be held for the county of Washington, on the first Monday of June next, to answer petition for freedom the bill of complaint of Joe Thompson, Nelly Thompson & their infant child Sarah Anne in the said court exhibited against you. Hereof you are not to fail, as you will answer the contrary at your peril.
