The Commonwealth of Virginia,
To the Sheriff of Alexandria County—Greeting:
You are hereby commanded to summon Edward Swann administrator of Richard B Alexander, deceased. to appear before our Circuit Court of Alexandria, at the Court-house of the said County, on the at the day of 185 , to testify and the truth to speak on behalf of in a certain matter of controversy depending and undetermined in the said Court, between next term to answer the petition of Negroes Moses, Georgiana Thomas and Mary infants under the age of twenty one years by Christy Brown formerly Christy Dunbar their mother and next friend
And this they shall in no wise omit under the penalty of £100: and have then there this writ. Witness, Robert Alexander Sinclair, Clerk of our said Court, at the Court-house aforesaid, this 18th day of November 1857, and in the 81 year of the Commonwealth.
