To the Honble the Judges of the Circuit Court of the Dist. of Cola. for the County of Washington
The Petition of Milley humbly sheweth That she is entitled to her freedom & is unjustly held and claimed as a Slave be a certain Samuel Thomas Massey of this County & District. Wherefore she prays the United States writ of subpoena to the said Samuel Thomas Massey directed, that he may be compelled to be and appear before your Honors & answer hereunto. So that your Petitioner may be discharged & obtain such other & further relief as to your Honors shall seem right.
