Rachel Turner v. Innis B. Palmer. Petition for Freedom
To the Honble the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington.
The Petition of Rachel Turner humbly sheweth that she is entitled to her freedom and is unjustly held in bondage by a certain Innis B Palmer, who claims your Petitioner as a slave.
Wherefor she prays the U. States writ of Subpona to the said Palmer directed that he may appear & answer hereto and that your Petitioner may be discharged.
