To the Honble the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington.
The Petition of Emanuel Prince humbly sheweth that he is free man, & that he is unjustly held in bondage by a certain Thos. N. Davis of Washington County. Wherefore he prays the U.S. Writ of Sbpa to said Davis directed, commanding him to appear before your Honors & answer hereunto. That your Petitioner may be adjudged free and discharged.
