John & Serena v. Henry Moscross. Deed of Manumission

 

I do hereby Emancipate and set free the following Negroes after they have served their respective Terms of Servitude hereafter mentioned to wit Negro Jack his wife Patience from the date hereof and her future increase forever Negro Michael after he has served the term of five years from the first day of January next, Negro Nancy after she has served the term of Eight years from the first day of January next and her increase forever. Negro John after he has served the term of fifteen years from the first day of January next; Negro Letty after she has served the term of thirteen years from the first day of January next; and Negro Bobadil after he has served the term of twenty three years from the first day of January next And I for myself my Heirs, Executors and Administrators for ever grant all claim to any further service of the aforementioned negroes their increases after they shall have served their respective terms of servitude above mentioned

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of July seventeen hundred ninety Eight
