On the petitions of Jane alias Jane Williams (a mulatto woman) alledging that she is entitled to her freedom it is ordered that Thomson F. Mason be assigned as counsel & that he report a statement of facts & his opinion thereupon. who accordingly made his report that & upon his report that the whereupon leave is granted said Jane to sue in forma pauperis for her freedom, & it is further ordered that she be taken into the custody of the Marshall, until bond & security of $1200 conditioned for her appearance at her owner shall give bond & security in the sum of $1200 with conditioned to have her forthcoming to answer the judgement of the Court.
