China v. Benjamin D. Patterson. Bond

 

Know all Men by these presents that we Benjamin D. Patterson and           are held and firmly bound unto the Unite States of America in the full and Just sum of Four hundred dollars money of the United States, To the payment whereof Well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our and each of our heirs, Executors & Administrators, Jointly and severally formely by these presents, Sealed with our seals and dated this 18th day of July 1811.

Whereas Negroe China claimed by the said Benjamine D. Patterson as his property hath been claimed permitted by the United States Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Alexandria to Institute a suit in forma pauperis against the said Benjamin D. Patterson for the purpose of Asscertaining the right of the said Negroe China to her freedom Now if the Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound Benjamin D. Patterson or his representatives shall leave the said Negroe China forthcoming to answer the Judgment of the Court which shall be rendered in the said suit, then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force
