John Smith and Leonard Cook being Sworn According to Law. That they have known Negroe Chiny in the service of the said Patterson as a Slave in the Town of Alexandria for two or three years, and that they understood she was brought from Maryland as a Slave
The said Patterson admitted that she was a Slave to his Father in Maryland and that she was not entered and recorded According to Law
