Negroe China permitted by order of Court to sue in forma pauperis complains of Benjamin D Patterson in custody of the Marshall of a plea of Trespass, for this that in the first day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and nine at the County aforesaid the said Defdt with force & arms and Assault did make on the plf. and her the said plf then & there did beat and imprison and detain in custody for a long time to wit for one year next before the said first day of November and still does imprison against the peace and government of the United States and to the plfs damage two hundred dollars & therefore she brings suit &c
