Jane Slaughter v. George Cruse & Solomon Sparrow. Complaint
Negro Jenny complains of George Cruse Solomon Sparrow in custody &c for that the said defendants on the sixth day of march in the year eighteen Hundred & Six with force of arms to wit with swords clubs and staves, upon her the said plaintiff at Alexandria aforesaid in the County aforesaid did make assault and did then and there beat wound imprison and evil entreat her so that her life was dispaired of and her the said plaintiff so imprisoned against the will of the said plaintiff without any reasonable cause and against the laws and customs of the United States for a long time to wit for the space kept and detained and other injuries to her then and there did against the peace of the United States and to the damage of the said plaintiff
therefore she brings her suit
