Charles v. Henry Nicholson. Affidavit of John Hoskins

Personally appeared before me a Justice of Peace for said County John Hoskins who made Oath that he heard Henry Nicholson say he had a Negroe for sale he had some Conversation with Abner Wilburn on that subject, in the Dining room an Instrument of Writing was drawn up between them [illegible] was signed by Henry Nicholson and this deponant called in to subscribe his name as a Witness, which he did, but not having read the instrument of writing he does not know its[?] Contents, he has since heard Henry Nicholson say he had sold the said negroe as above stated, and that he was now in Jail. Given under my Hand this 28th day of May 1805
