That if the Jury believe from the evidence that the Petr: was brought by the Deft from Florida into this County & kept her with him in his service till his return to Florida, & on his return, left her here untill her confinement (which happened a few weeks afterwards) after which she was allowed by a written authority to hire herself out until the Decr. following, & that she did so hire in this County until that period. And further that the said Petr's husband was authorized to purchase said woman if he could raise the sum of 400$ and that the then the continuing of said Petr: in this County under such circumstances is evidence of an importation contrary to the law of 1796.
