Rebecca v. Lloyd Pumphrey. Writ of Execution
Whereas, at a Circuit Court of the district of Columbia, held for the county of Washington, at the city of Washington, on the Fourth Monday of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four a certain Negro Rebecca and children, William Ann & Margaret by judgment of the said Court, recovered against a certain Lloyd Pumphrey as well the sum of their freedom on their petition then before the same court against the said Lloyd Pumphrey on the sum of Forty one dollars and sixty eight cents, which was then and there adjudged unto the said Negro Rebecca and children for their costs and charges by them about this prosecution of the said petition laid out and expended; which was adjudged by the said Court to the said on assent for costs and charges by about suit in that behalf laid out and expended; whereof the said Lloyd Pumphrey is convict as it appeareth of record. Therefore you are hereby commanded to take the said Lloyd Pumphrey if he shall be found in the said county of Washington, and him safely keep so that you have his body before the Circuit Court of the district of Columbia, to be held for the county of Washington, at the city of Washington, on the First Monday of May next, to satisfy unto the said Negro Rebecca & children the damages costs, and charges aforesaid. Hereof fail not, at your peril: and have you then and there this writ.
