To the Honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District.
The Petition of Elizabeth Ann Proctor and Cynthia Eleanor Proctor and Steven Washington Proctor respectfully represents to your Honors. That they are entitled to their Freedom and that they are illegally detained in Slavery by a certain Notley T Dutton Executor of Mrs Jane Yates, Deceased, and pray that they may be granted the privilege of instituting a suit in forma pauperis to establish the same.
