To the Honorable the Circuit Court of the United States for the District of Columbia and County of Washington.

The petition of Stephen Ambush, a coloured person, humbly sheweth unto the said Honorable Court, that your petitioner is entitled to his freedom and is unjustly held in bondage by James G Robinson, who claims your petitioner as a slave; and your petitioner prays the said Honorable Court, to grant a Subpoena directed to the said James G Robinson, and such other relief in the premises, as may be according to law
