To the Honble The Judges of the Circuit Court of The District of Columbia for the County of Washington,
The Humble Petition of Henrietta (commonly called Henny) Henry (commonly called Harry) and Stephen their Brother Sheweth
That Your Petitioners are born free but are detained in slavery by a certain Gilbert Docker, now, or late an inhabitant of this County, they therefore pray that process may be awarded against the said Gilbert Docker, so that your Petitioners may be permitted to assert their freedom, And
Your Petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray &c.
