To the Honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington
The Petition of Susan Wilson by John Moore, her next friend, humbly sheweth, that your petitioner is now held in bondage and claimed as a slave by William Addison. That your petitioner is entitled to her freedom and she therefore prays your Honors to grant unto her the United States writ of subpoena &c and such other relief in the premises as to your Honors may seen just and proper &c
