To the Honble the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington
The Petition of Rachael Turner otherwise called Rachael a coloured woman humbly complaining sheweth unto your Honors that your Petitioner is entitled to her freedom and is unjustly held in bondage by Innis B Palmer who claims your Petitioner as his slave
Wherefor your Petitioner prays your Honors to grant a subpoena to the said Innis B Palmer directed and such relief in the premises as may be according to law
