To the Honorable the Judge of the Circuit Court of the United States for the District of Columbia and County of Washington
The petition of Nathan Jackson a Coloured person, humbly sheweth unto the said Honorable Court that you petitioner is entitled to his freedom and is unjustly held in bondage by Joseph Parker, who claims your petitioner as his Slave, wherefore your petitioner prays that said Honorable Court to grant a subpoena directed to the said Joseph Parker and such other relief in the premise as may be according to the Law.
