Mary Foster v. William Richards. Petition for Freedom
The Petition of Mary Foster a Coloured person, humbly sheweth unto the said Honorable Court, that your petitioner is entitled to her freedom, and is unjustly held in bondage by William Richards, who claims your petitioner as his Slave, whereupon your petitioner prays the said Honorable Court to grant a subpoena directed to the said William Richards, and such other relief in the premises as may be in according to Law.
