To the Honorable the Circuit of the District of Columbia in and for the County of Washington.
The petition of Lidia Harris respectfully represents to your Honorable Court that he he is unlawfully held in slavery by one William M Lewis of Virginia contrary to the will of Francis Montgomery of the same state, which will provide to gives her her freedom on her arrival at the age of twenty eight. to which age she has passed. The She therefore respectfully prays your the honorable Court aforesaid to deliver her from the above mentioned servitude.
