Ben v. Sabret Scott. Writ of Habeas Corpus

 

Circuit Court June term 1809.

Whereas it hath been represented to [incomplete image] here, that a certain negro man named Ben[?] [incomplete image] illegally confined in your Jail, in the [incomplete image] of Washington by a certain Sabrett Scott[?] [incomplete image] you are therefore hereby commanded to [incomplete image] Body of the said Negro Ben (or by whatever[?] name he may be called) before the [incomplete image] immediately, together with the cause [incomplete image] detention and that you certify the [incomplete image] the said court and have here this writ.

Issued this 11th June 1809.
