To the Honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington

The Petition of John Moody otherwise called John humbly complaining sheweth unto your Honors, that your Petitioner is entitled to his freedom and is unjustly held in bondage by Azariah Fuller, who claims your petitioner as his slave. Therefore your Petitioner prays your Honors to grant a subpoena to the Azariah Fuller directed, and such relief in the premises as may be according to law.
