Loudon v. Charles Scott. Bond

 

Know all Men by these presents that we, Charles Scott and Andrew Scholfield are held and firmly bound unto the United States of America in the full and Just sum of Six Hundred dollars To the payment whereof well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our Heirs Exors. & Administrators, Jointly and severally firmly by these presents, Sealed with our seals and dated this Twelfth day of September 1804.

The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas a suit in forma pauperis has been commenced in the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Alexandria by leave of said Court by Negro Loudon against Charles Scott for his freedom, and the said Court having ordered that the said Negro Loudon be committed to the Custody of the Marshal of the said district until the said Charles Scott, shall give Security to have the said Negro Loudon forthcoming to answer the Judgment of the said Court in the said suit. Now the if the said Charles Scott shall well and truly have the said Negro Loudon forthcoming to answer the Judgment   of the Court in the said suit then the above obligation to be void or else or else to remain in full force power and Virtue.
