Susanna Mareman Last will and testament

In the name of God. Amen. I Susanna Mareman of Saint Marys County in the State of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, although sick and weak in body, considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say.First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almight God, and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named, and after my debs and funeral charges are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows. Item. I give and bequeath to my son James Mareman the sum of one dollar. Item I give and bequeath to my son John Mareman the sum of five shillings Item. I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Mareman the sum of one dollar. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Mareman the sum of one dollar. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary ONeale (wife of Charles ONeale) one dollar. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Attaway Leigh (wife of Lewis Leigh) one Dollar. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Penny[?] Hayden (wife of George Hayden) one dollar, one dollar. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Price (wife of John Price) the sum of twenty dollars. I likewise give to my Grand son William Price son of my said daughter Susanna Price one feather Bed and furniture and I also give to my Grand Daughter Julian Price two cows. Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Mareman all me real estate to wit, the Plantation wherein I now live, to her and her heirs forever, provided nevertheless that in case she shall die without any issue, then my will and desire is that the said land shall at her decease, become the rights and Estate of my two Gran children aforenamed to be equally divided between them and their heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my said daughter Ann Mareman all all the rest and residue of my Estate whatsoever But if   she shall die without issue as aforesaid then my will is that my three negroes, to wit, Phil, Winifred and Harriott shall be equally, divided in value between my two Grand children above named. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twefth day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Eleven.

Signed sealed published and declared by Susanna Mareman the above named Testator as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request, and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Ethelbert Cecil, Bennett Hopewell Edmun Greenwell.

Saint Marys County Sct. The 19th day of May 1818. Then came Ethelbert Cecil and Edmund Greenwell, and on the 20th day of May 1818 came Bennett Hopewell the three subscribing witnesses to the within last will & Testament of Susanna Mareman late of Saint Marys County decesased, and severally made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almight God that they did see the Testatrix therein named sign & seal this will, and that they heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and Testament; that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding; and that the respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will, in the presence and at the request of the said testatrix, and in the presence of each other.
