District of Columbia towit
The United States of America to the Marshal of the District of Columbia, Greeting;

You are hereby commanded to summon Archibald McMullin if he shall be found within the County of Washington in your said District that all excuses and delays set apart he be and appear before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, to be held in and for the County aforesaid at the City of Washington on the fourth monday of December next to answer the Petition of Negro James; otherwise called: James Currill, for his freedom, which he hath this day exhibited in the said Court against him, the said Archibald McMullin. Hereof fail not at your peril and have you then and there this writ. Witness the Honorable William Cranch Esq. Chief Judge of the said Court the 30th June 1809.

Issued the 16th October 1809.
