To the Honorable the judges of the Circuit Court for the District of Columbia in the County of Washington

The petition of Patty respectfully sheweth that she is entitled to her freedom, but is held in slavery by Charles Ratcliffe administrator of Benjamin R. Davis deceased, & the heirs of Benjamin R. Davis, contrary to law Wherefore she prays, that she may be [illegible] from said slavery & bondage of said Charles Ratcliffe administrator as afsd. & the heirs & Representatives of said Benjamin R. Davis, and that a subpoena may issue to said Charles Ratcliffe admr. as afsd. & the other Representatives of said B. R. Davis decd. and your petitioner will ever pray &c
