Minny Calvert v. Ann French. Summons of Ann French

 

District of Columbia, to wit:
The United States of America,
To the Marshal of the District of Columbia, Greeting:

We command you that you take summon Ann French late of Washington County, if she shall be found within the County of Washington in your said District, and safely keep, so that you she have be & bod appear before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, to be held for the County aforesaid, at the City of Washington, on the third Monday of October next, to answer unto the Petition of Winney Calvert filed in the said Court against her for freedom.

Hereof fail not at your peril, and have you then and there this writ.

Witness Wm Cranch Esquire, Chief Judge of our said Court, at the City of Washington, the 7th day of June Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.

Issued the 26th day of June 1847.
