District of Columbia, to wit:
The United States of America,
To the Marshal of the District of Columbia, Greeting:

We command you that you take summon Jane Munroe late of Washington County, if she shall be found within the County of Washington in your said District, and her safely keep, so that you she be & appear have her body before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, to be held for the County aforesaid, at the City of Washington, on the third Monday of October next, to answer unto Louisa Woodward's Petition for freedom filed in the said Court against her.

Hereof fail not, at your peril, and have you then and there this writ.

Witness Wm Cranch Esquire, Chief Judge of our said Court, at the City of Washington, the 7th day of June Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.

Issued the 26 day of June 1847.
