William H. Williams v. James Ash. Bond

 

[torn page] made and done, we find ourselves and each of us [torn page] and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 14th day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty

Whereas lately at a Circuit Court of the District of Columbia sitting for the County of Washington a suit depending in the said Circuit Court wherein the said James Ash was the petitioner [torn page] William H Williams was Defendant Judgment was rendered against the said Defendant and he having obtained a Writ of Error and filed a copy thereof in the Clerks office of said Court to reverse the Judgement in the aforesaid suit and a citation to the said James Ash to be and appear at a Supreme Court of the United States to be held on the second Monday of January next.

Now the condition of the above obligation is such that if the said William H Williams should prosecute said Writ to effect, and answer all damages and costs if he fails to make good his plea, then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
