District of Columbia, to wit:
The United States of America,
To the Marshal of the District of Columbia, Greeting:

We command you that you take summon Nelson Conrad late of Washington County, if he shall be found within the County of Washington in your said District, and him safely keep, so that you he be & appear have his body before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, to be held for the County aforesaid, at the City of Washington, on the fourth Monday of November next, to answer unto Hiram Hunt's petition for freedom filed in the said Court against him

Hereof fail not, at your peril, and have you then and there this writ.

Witness William Cranch Esquire, Chief Judge of our said Court, at the City of Washington, the 4th day of June Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty two.

Issued the 6th day of August 1842.
