The United States of America, To Electius Spalding

You are hereby commanded, that, all excuses and delays set aside, you be and appear before the circuit court of the district of Columbia, to be held for the county of Washington, on the first Monday of June next, to answer the bill of complaint petition for freedom of James Butler in the said court exhibited against you. Hereof you are not to fail, as you will answer the contrary at your peril.

Witness, Wm Cranch esquire, chief judge of the said court, the 19 day of April 1815.

Issued the 31 day of May 1815.
