The United States of America to           Bennett and George Miller Greeting: Whereas Rosanna Brown (a black woman) hath this day filed in the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington her petition for freedom against the said Bennett and for sundry good causes particularly stated and set forth in the said petition you the said           Bennett and you the said George Miller, your and each of your agents and servants are hereby enjoined and prohibited from taking or carrying away the said Rosanna Brown out of the said County of Washington, or removing her out of the Jurisdiction of the court until the further order of this Court in the premises. Hereof you are not to fail as you will answer the contrary at your peril Witness Wm Cranch Esq. Chief Judge of the said Court.

Issued the 22 day of Decr 1815.
