The United States of America, To Brown

You are hereby commanded, that, all excuses and delays set aside, you be and appear before the circuit court of the district of Columbia, to be held for the county of Washington, on the fourth Monday of December Instant next, to answer the bill of complaint of Petition for freedom of Cordelia Willson a blackwoman in the said court exhibited against you. Hereof you are not to fail, as you will answer the contrary at your peril.
