To the Honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington

The Petition of Ann Davis in behalf of herself and her children David, Sarah, Frederick & Hanson— Humbly Sheweth

That your Petitioner and her Children above named are entitled to freedom, yet they are detained in Slavery by Charles Minifee who resides within the Jurisdiction of this Court; she therefore prays process may issue in behalf of herself and Children that they may assert their right and,

Your Petitioners will ever pray Ann Davis for herself and Children in their proper persons
