District of Columbia to wit

The United States of America

To the Marshal of the District of Columbia, greeting.

You are hereby commanded to summon Mary Young, that all excuses and delays set aside, she be and appear before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington to be held at the City of Washington on the fourth Monday of December next to answer the Petition of Nelly Brown on behalf of her son Jerry for his freedom, in the said Court exhibited against him. Hereof fail not at your peril, and have you then and there this writ. Witness the honble Wm Cranch Esquire, Chief Judge of our said Court, the 28th day of June in the year 1808.
