Ben v. Sabret Scott. Bond

 

Know all men by these presents that we Sabrit Scott and George W. Riggs of the County of Washington and District of Columbia are held and firmly bound unto Negro Ben in the sum of one thousand dollars current money, to be paid unto the said Negro Ben his certain attorney Executors administrators or assigns to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we find ourselves our heirs and Executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 22d. day of June Eighteen hundred and seven.

Whereas the said Negro Ben hath filed his Petition for freedom in the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia for the County of Washington and hath recovered a Judgment in the said case at the present June Term, from which said Judgment the said Sabrit Scott hath appealed and is about to sue forth a Writ of Error returnable to the Supreme Court of the United States

Now The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the said Sabrit Scott shall prosecute the said Writ with effect and answer all damages & costs if he fail to make his plea good then the above obligation to be void else to be and remain in full force and virtue in Law
